SKINNY STYLE FILE
Doesn’t it seem that everything skinny is in style these days? Skinny jeans, skinny trouser pants, skinny waist lines and skinny belts! Well, I wanted to take a minute to pay tribute to those dang skinny belts we love so much. They seem to be the perfect touch of trendy to polish so many different types of styles. Over cardigans, over fancy dresses, over blazers, in the belt loops, around the middle, for a pop of color, with a maxi dress, with a summer dress and even with your favorite shorty denim shorts. Check out the way these celebrities style their skinnies, and take a peak at our favorite Nectar summer skinny, the Color Spirit Skinny Belt.
Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
We hope your weekend is full of grilling out, pool-side fun, knit tops, your favorites sandals, sun-hats, remembering our soldiers, red white & blue, cut off denim shorts, tanks, not too much sunburn, and a whole lot of laughter. Enjoy the long weekend, Nectarines!
SUMMER SKIRTING.
Another summer fashion trend I am loving is the long, feminine skirts. Nectar has a slew of fabulous options in this department. (My favorite is the Com-Pleat Me Skirt!) This style, which I used to consider out of the box is becoming such a versatile look. Wear this long, flowing skirts in solid colors, or in a crazy tribal or floral print. Rock the skirt with boots or platform wedges for a trendy look, or even flip flops or flats for a more casual style. The amazing thing about these fashion trend is that it has such a wide range of wear—from a backyard party, a summer concert or a night out! What’s your favorite way to rock this look Nectarines?

The Blazer Buzz!
My blazers are the most versatile piece in my wardrobe, they work in so many different ways to always leave your look polished and fashionable. Here’s a few of the ways a blazer can make your look—whether it’s one you’re wearing to work, or for a night out!
The suit blazer. With a nice pair of dress pants (cropped, or otherwise), the right blazer can take you from stylish to all-out professional. Lauren Conrad rocks a perfect example of pairing these sleek black pieces for a powerful working women style.
The statement blazer. Now there are also the blazers that make your outfit. Pair them with neutrals or denim and let them lead your get-up from a classic look to a complete trendsetting style. You can pull this off with a patterned or lined blazer, a blazer with button detail, or by picking a bold blazer shade.
The feminine blazer. With a pair of summer shorts, your favorite pumps and a feminine silky tank or blouse your outfit may be complete. By adding your favorite blazer as another layer your style becomes a bit more complex, a bit more unique and hey who doesn’t love an extra layer for when it gets chilly? This is a much more refined look than throwing on a cardigan or a hoodie!
The blazer playing dress up. These days, the pencil skirts and blazers are making it out of the boardroom and into our everyday where. Which means throwing that refined layer onto a feminine cocktail dress for a wedding, or summer garden party, creates the perfect look. The ideal shades for pulling off a dressed up blazer for a summer wedding in my opinion are a white, tan, navy, or a bright bold shade to perfect this style.
What’s your favorite way to wear a blazer?

Our favorite celebrities have convinced us that it doesn’t have to be 80’s or Barbie-like to rock this boldest-of-bold pink kiss. Neon pink lips can be incredible classy and chic when worn with the right styles. Choose a shocking shade of pink you feel suites you—Mac’s “Pink Pigeon is a bright shade, but there are ton’s out there—then touch it up with some gloss and this look is unstoppable. The best thing about this trend is your lips become the focal point of your outfit, leaving you to wear your favorite basics and pull together a simple, yet fashion forward style.
It’s all about neon this summer, and the truth is its an intimidating trend for some. You saw how Tricia took her journey to embracing neon, now we’re here to help your take yours. My favorite thing about Tricia’s experience is she found how much fun wearing neons can be. From compliments on your bright attire, to an actual hop in your step because they are so mood elevating, neon-wearing is going to be so much fun this summer!
Remember, just because the colors are overwhelmingly bright and have a strong 80’s/90’s reference doesn’t mean it has to be difficult to wear, or even extremely fashion forward. Think of this neon trend more as another opportunity to color block with some new shades. Truth: neons go great with neons. So don’t be afraid to pair your favorite brights in one outfit!
When neon’s were popular wear in the 90’s the trend was more tied to alternative rock and the grunge culture — now, you don’t have to be a rockstar to pull off this look. This summer, the neons are back and this time they are much more mainstream.
My one main warning with this look is to watch out for neon colors that are less than complimentary to your skin tone. Some of the brightest yellow/greens won’t necessarily work for everyone. I know as a pale blonde, I definitely have to be careful of this when stepping out of the box with neon shades. Looking for a safe bet? Pinks and blues should be a safe bet for most ladies!
So, what do you think of this emerging fashion trend? Are you glad the neon’s are back? WIll you wear them? Let us know! And, send us pictures of you in your favorite Nectar neons!

Layering is such a great spring look. It keeps us comfy as the temps change on us. Sometimes pairing our most fun items in a different and unique way creates a completely fresh, new look. I wanted to share with you what I consider to be laying best-practices, both from our Nectarines and the celebs themselves!
1. Wear those shorts, but over your favorite tights. This is a perfect way to get out your best shorts a little sooner than weather allows!
2. Your favorite tank + your favorite button up + your favorite blazer. You’ll be warm and fashion forward. Go ahead and add your favorite chunky necklace too!
3. When you think your look is finished, add a layer. Whether it be blazer, a sweater or an open button up — this will polish your outfit up with the layered look we love.
4. When you’re wearing your favorite blazer with sleeves rolled up don’t be afraid to let the sleeves of your favorite striped (or printed) long sleeve t-shirt show underneath for another layer.
Even though we are loving all these layers, there is such thing as too much. Please don’t run home and pile on your whole closet! This layered look is similar to accessorizing, put on all your favorites and then take off at least one item for the perfect balance. (Yes, we’ll let you pop double collars if you’re feeling extra preppy, but there is a layer limit!) Happy layering, ladies.

Denim on Denim is honestly one of my new favorite looks. But the truth is, the first time I saw it—I absolutely hated it. It took me some time to get used to this modern day Canadian tuxedo. Now that I know how to wear it the right way, I adore it! It’s an easy, fashion forward statement that looks great no matter if yours is a more timeless, classic or completely modern, trendy style.
Here a few tips to wear it right:

A knot tied with two loops and two loose ends, especially useful for shoelaces, or otherwise known as the bow. This knotted approach to making fashion statements and accessorizing leaves us with seemingly endless options, all of which are extremely playful and feminine—and all of which we love.
Check out these pictures for some of the ways we love to see bows worn, and some of our Nectar bow favorites! And remember, don’t be afraid to put a bow somewhere new and daring, from the top of your head down to your toes!
Wearing White
The first thing I did when the weather warmed up this year is pull out my favorite white pieces. I don’t pay much attention to the “labor day” rule anyway but white always looks better when it’s against a warm weather tan. It’s a clean and classic look for spring and summer and there are SO many great ways to wear white! Here are the white items you should have in your closet this year if you don’t already.
White blazer. Professional. Preppy. Feminine. And—completely classic. This is a great look for semi-casual work wear and the options for pairing are endless: floral dresses, colored denim, trouser jeans, even an all white look like Angelina is strutting.
White denim. My white denim cropped jeans are probably my favorite item in my wardrobe. They go with almost everything I own and work for seemingly endless looks. And if you are as clumsy as me, don’t worry, there’s always bleach!
White silk top. I know you love your favorite white V-neck cotton that you took from your boyfriend’s house, I love mine too. But let’s step it up with something silky and light this summer. It creates an effortless, refined look and a sleek blouse will dress up your fun patterns and bright colors. Our Nectar model is nailing this look with orange.
White dress. This dress will be almost as important as the LBD in your closet. The best looks to grab this year are silk and lace.
Yes, all white can work but don’t forget to contrast your favorite whites with your favorite brights. And remember, adding these favorites to your wardrobe can’t do you wrong, this color is never going out of style!
